Fun with customers 2

An 8-year-old boy walks up to our front counter and orders a suicide drink. As the lady who took his order is making it she says, "Aren't you a little young for mixed drinks?"

Without missing a beat, but clearly not understanding what she's talking about he responds, "No, I've been drinking them for years!"

Interesting things found in Chick-fil-A #763

As I was sweeping the parking lot this morning, I came across a plastic Barbie leg. A few feet away was an arm...and another leg and arm...and two halves of a body. I never found the head though

Fun with customers at Chick-fil-A

At the drive-thru:

Me: "Would you like some sauce for you nuggets?"
Customer: "Yeah, can I have a couple of Arby's sauces?"

Perhaps I misunderstood him. "I'm sorry, what?"
"A couple of Arby's sauces."

We look at each other for a few awkward moments; then it clicks.
"I mean Chick-fil-A sauce."

He drives away and I chuckle.

Cynthia Furr

She was a professor at Winthrop. I say "was" because a couple of weeks ago she was in a car accident that took her life as well has the life of her two-year-old daughter.

When I first heard the story I was pretty angry. Because the accident was caused by a couple of idiots drag racing. This accident was completely preventable.

After it happened, The Johnsonian asked students and faculty to send in their thoughts about the situation and, more importantly, of Dr. Furr. While I was reading the responses I was struck by how many people her life had impacted who didn't even know her. More than one person mentioned how they never had a class with her, but only saw her in passing in the hallways and how those small interactions had brightened their day.

As I continued to read about her and talk about it with some of the students who did have her, I came to find out that was a Christian. But I really wasn't surprised when I found out. Seeing how her life (even just in passing) affected those around her, it's clear that she loves Jesus.

It was encouraging to me when I found out, and then I realized that I, too, am being touched by her and I didn't even know she exisited until after she had died.
